Disappointed that we were't told of Finlays closing it's doors. We had a Christmas voucher which we can't use.

RESPONSE

VOUCHERS - It has been brought to our attention when we have become the new owners of Finlay’s there was a lot of people in and out of the community that have vouchers to spend with the previous company owning Finlay’s; who closed without warning not giving the people the chance to spend them

We’d like to stress we are new local owners and we have started up a new business choosing to keep the Finlays name , so honoring the vouchers would be a hit on the new business but we want to give back what people in the community have lost .

So we WILL be honouring ALL vouchers that are valid to spend up to the original expiry date at Finlay’s Land & Sea . The value of the voucher will be redeemable on food & drink and deducted from your total bill .

Please pass on the word of anyone you know that have vouchers and please get in touch with any questions . You can go ahead and book tables on our website and you can always add notes you have vouchers to spend to let the staff know .

We look forward to welcoming you back to Finlay’s under new ownership from Friday 22nd November.

04 The Old Bridge Hotel

I had booked this hotel to stay the night before a busy workday, hoping to arrive refreshed, but unfortunately, that didn’t happen.

The location is great, central and convenient, and the room was clean and well-appointed, which was a positive. However, the room itself was disappointingly small. The bed was so cramped that I could barely enter the room without it getting in the way. Thankfully, I was traveling alone, but I can’t help but feel that the small size of the room might have been the reason for this arrangement.

Additionally, the room was adjoining, which raised some concerns for me as a solo female traveler. While the room was secure, this aspect made me feel a bit uncomfortable.

The noise throughout the night was another major issue. The guests in the adjoining room were late-night revellers, frequently coming and going without regard for others. While I understand that the hotel can’t control the behaviour of its guests, it still impacted my stay.

The noise from the bar at the back of the hotel added to the lack of privacy, and the windows, despite having blackout blinds, made the room dark, which made getting dressed in the morning a challenge.

The breakfast was another letdown. The dining area lacked atmosphere and felt more like a cafeteria, with no background music to make it more pleasant. The breakfast options were also limited, especially for those seeking healthier choices.

Overall, while the hotel’s central location and cleanliness were appreciated, the cramped room, noise issues, and lack of privacy and breakfast options made this a frustrating stay.

I cant't even begin to tell you how horrible these are from LIDL. They absolutley stink and are made of CHICKEN...not beef meat...£1.50 of disgusting sludge 😳

06 S & J Plastering

We asked SJ Plastering to come and have a look at a fairly small plastering job which he did and said he would get back to us with a price. After about a week I messaged him and got no reply. I left it another few days and messaged him to which he did respond with its just too much of a small job to quote for...I did say to him that the message on the side of his van says, 'NO JOB TOO BIG OR SMALL' not sure what is classed as a small job these days but at least get back to us to say you can do it SJ.

Been hear for years always great food and service. Came today food not up to scratch service.🤔🤔🤔 I felt like who is on front oh house to get staff in order. For what I struggled to eat only because I was hungry and price very disappointed 😞

Asked for a PINT 🤔

Is it too much to ask for a pint of Guinness these days in a pub. I went to a bar in Holmfirth called Y Bar and Snap at Norridge Bottom. Place seemed rather nice and fairly busy for a Saturday evening. Long story short, The pic I posted was said to be a PINT. When I questioned it, the owner I presume, asked what my problem was and did top it up a little. A very expensive just over a half pint.
